Wills & Trusts
It is all too easy to put off making your will until another day. However, for some people, life is cut unexpectedly short.
Unfortunately, for those who die without a Will, their property and assets may be distributed in a manner that might not be as they would have wished. A Will allows you to ensure that those you do wish to benefit from your assets, benefit in the most efficient way. It is also possible to deal with issues such as the care of children in the event of the death of one or both parents.
A Will should follow you through your life, being updated as and when required.
We provide a tailored service to address your individual needs and drafting Will that addresses these. For clients unable to attend our offices, we are happy to facilitate home visits.
We offer fixed fees for most Will requirements. Please contact us for further details.
Enduring Power of Attorney
An Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) allows you to appoint your spouse, partner, friend or other relative to manage your affairs on your behalf, should you become mentally incapacitated. If you have property, investments or other income, you should strongly consider having an EPA drawn up to give you the comfort of knowing that someone approved by you will look after your affairs, should you become incapable.
If you do not have an EPA in place, the legal process to authorise family members to look after your affairs can be burdensome and expensive. In contrast, an EPA is a very straightforward and inexpensive process.
You can limit the power your attorney has to certain parts of your affairs; for example, you may wish them to handle your money but not be able to sell your property. You can cancel or amend your EPA at any time whilst you are mentally capable. We recommend that clients consider signing an EPA when writing their Will.
We also offer a fixed fee for EPAs at an affordable cost, please contact us for further details.
